Jesus said that if we’re going to follow him, we’re going to have to serve others: whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all (Mark 10:43). The good news is that serving others is also good for us.
To “become great” isn’t to have more money or be more powerful, it’s to be more at peace, have more purpose, and be filled with more joy. We have to invest in the ministries that help Jesus’ followers learn how to serve others.
