The Beyond campaign’s goal is $53 million — a number that’s bold and beyond anything Mission Hills has ever set out to achieve. We believe this is a God-sized goal, one that only he can make possible.

BIBLICAL STEWARDSHIP
We’re inviting everyone who considers Mission Hills Church their home to prayerfully seek God’s direction in making a financial commitment. Biblical stewardship isn’t measured in equal amounts but in equal sacrifice, reflecting the unique resources God has entrusted to each of us.
A POSTURE OF GENEROSITY
Generosity is more than a number; it’s a posture of the heart. Pray about how God wants you to steward what he has entrusted to you.
APPRECIATED ASSETS
Many people own securities that have achieved unrealized gains in value over the years. That is good news. The bad news is that if these assets were sold, a significant portion of the gain would be lost to taxation. Gifts of appreciated assets—typically investment securities or real estate—can be very advantageous to both the donor and the church. By transferring ownership of the asset to the church, the donor avoids income taxes on the sale of the asset. Unlike gifts of cash that have already incurred an income tax, gifts of appreciated assets avoid the incurrence of capital gains tax. In addition, the donor receives a charitable tax deduction for the full market value of the asset. That, in effect, makes these gifts less costly to make. Importantly, before making a commitment of this type, please consult your CPA, tax attorney, or other financial advisors.

INCREMENTAL GIVING
Giving does not have to be in equal increments over the next two years. You might be able to give more in the second year than in the first. As you think about your financial commitment to Beyond, think not of just your potential to give right now but also of your potential to give in the future. It might be that you can make a two-year commitment, which 70% is given in the first year and 30% in the second year.
